Comments & Discussion

In the summer of 1938, a group of gals headed west to the University of Colorado for a summer class, before heading on to Yellowstone and California. These photos from that trip eventually made their way to an estate sale, and then into the Coloradotopia archives.

There are two Continental Divide signs shown in these photos. The larger of the two signs would be moved to the front of the shelter house that was built here later in the year.

Condition, Aging & Authenticity: The smallest of the 3 photographs has lots of fading, some of which is probably due to aging, and some is also likely just a characteristic of the photograph since it was developed. There is no major damage to the images, and all have retained a glossy finish as of their arrival into the archives.
