Comments & Discussion

While the sign above the gas pump is illegible in this photo, it should be noted that there appears to be a topper sign of some kind above it that is not seen in most other photos. 

The black paper is from an album. The backside has another photograph label and 4 mounting holds for the corners of another photo.

Background: This inn was built in 1925, and was torn down in 1938. Skiing on the pass had already become a popular recreational activity here by 1935, but the first rope tow for the Berthoud Pass Ski Area was not added until 1937.

Condition, Aging & Authenticity: Slight discoloration due to aging around the backside edges. The front surface has virtually no scratching or cracking visible to the naked eye, and it has retained most or all of its glossiness as of arrival into the archives.
