Image Dating Comments

This ticket can be dated based on Dwight L. Sullivan’s ownership history of the ski area, as his name appears on the ticket.

He purchased the ski area in December of 1943 and operated it until the end of the 1945–1946 season.1

Comments & Discussion

Lift tickets with metal grommets are usually associated with the 1960s and later, so this ticket shows that this is not always true when it comes to CO lift tickets.

Dwight Sullivan was a local businessman who owned multiple drug stores throughout his career and was also President of the Idaho Springs Chamber of Commerce.2

Condition, Aging & Authenticity: There is a large crease through the center upon arrival, and the green ink on the front appears unfaded. Ink on the back shows significant fading.
