This ticket was likely used during the early years of the ski area. The ski area opened in 1961, and the ticket’s style appears more consistent with the 1960s era than the 1970s or ’80s.
Comments & Discussion
This was a single-day ticket. It was hand-stamped with the month and date of ‘1 x 10’, representing January 10th.
That is the Idlewild logo that is seen at the bottom, although most other instances of this logo are much more colorful.
Condition, Aging & Authenticity: There is a tear at the top where the ticket was removed from its string or wire. There is little/no fading in the main black and red inks. The date stamp has uneven fading that appears genuine when examined under a loupe.
