1926 Manitou Incline Ticket #PIK-75270
Brief Description
This souvenir ticket comes from the Manitou Incline in Manitou Springs, CO. The incline was initially built in order to facilitate the construction of a hydroelectric plant at the top of the mountain. It was turned into a tourist attraction that hauled people up and down the mountain at a slope of up to 68°.

This is a souvenir ticket that would have been given out or purchased at the top of the incline.
F.C. Mathews, whose facsimile signature can be seen at the bottom of the ticket, was also the traffic manager for the Pikes Peak Auto Highway during this era. He worked as a passenger agent for the local railways before working for Spencer Penrose, The Broadmoor Hotel, and their local scenic toll roads and attractions.
Manitou Springs, CO is located within the Pikes Peak Region.
Condition, Aging & Authenticity: There is some obvious oxidation of the handwritten ink that shows the age. The ticket is relatively free of any damage aside from the original torn edges. The backside has lots of discoloration and possible bleeding of the ink from the front.
