Noted on the invitation: the state’s plan at the time was to close Loveland Pass during the winters. While the pass did close for the winter of 1973–1974, the highway department began keeping the pass open year-round again by the next season. See the In-Depth History of Loveland Pass.

The tunnel eventually opened at 11am on Thursday, March 8th.1

Condition, Aging & Authenticity: The paper has been folded over twice, and the crease marks are still obvious. There is some crumpling, but no major damage. One corner is folded over as of arrival into the archives. If this was indeed sent out like this without an envelope, the condition is relatively remarkable.
