Telluride Lodging
There are two villages where you can stay while visiting Telluride, CO. Downtown Telluride is the historic center of the area and this is the lowest elevation village of the two. Mountain Village is located midway up the mountain, and this is the more popular place to stay for families. This is where you will find the ski school and the majority of the beginner skiing zones. Mountain Village can be accessed by car as well as by the free gondola that runs from Downtown Telluride, through the Sophia Station mid-mountain lodge, and then onto Mountain Village.

Telluride Lodging FAQ
All of the beginner skiing is located in Mountain Village, so if you have small children who will be taking lessons, you might find staying in Mountain Village a bit more convenient.
In Mountain Village, try the Peaks Resort & Spa and the Inn at Lost Creek. In Downtown Telluride, go for the Hotel Columbia or the Camel’s Garden if you want to be close to the lifts.
