Bald Mountain

The hike-to status of Bald Mountain helps it hold fresh powder throughout the day for those who want to make the hike. The terrain here is good for smooth powder turns as you move from just above the treeline down into the pine trees. This is the mountain peak that beginners will see looming over them as they ride the Ute Park chairlift.

Skiers and riders will gain access to more than 400 feet of hike-to terrain here, but you won’t need to hike 400+ feet of vertical in order to get to the top. The access gate will get you onto the mountain a bit higher up, and give you a relatively easy hike. The Galloping Goose trail can be seen in the photo belowtraversing its way around the waistline of Bald Mountain.
